Hometown: Born in San Francisco, CA. Lives in Napa, CA.
Sports Played and Schools attended: Vintage High School (2004) Santa Rosa Junior College (2007), California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obipso (2010). I was a two-sport athlete for 10 years, involved in track and field (sprints and relays) and football (wide receiver and defensive back) up to the collegiate level of competition. I am now a competitive athlete AND coach in the sport of Olympic weightlifting.
Schools Attended: Vacaville Christian High School and Vintage High School
Sports Background: I Played Football, Trained in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing
Favorite Exercise: My favorite lift is the Snatch. Performing a snatch correctly takes a certain finesse and speed that is not easy to obtain. I like the challenge of such technique oriented lifts rather than relying on brute strength alone. A correctly performed snatch is an awesome display of technique, strength, and power. Its the whole package!
Personal bests: My current best Snatch is 92kg and Clean & Jerk is 121kg. My ultimate goals for these lifts are to Snatch 130kg and Clean & Jerk 160kg.
Certifications: NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance coach.
Trainer bio and philosophy: “I started seriously lifting weights at 19 years old. I loved watching the changes in my body and feeling the progressions in strength and size from my hard work. Working out turned from a hobby into a daily routine. My day wasn’t over when I got off of work, it was over when my last set was finished. I have always been a giving person and very people oriented. Coaching has given me another way to help people and show that with hard work and consistency, there is not much you cannot accomplish. Coaching for me is a lifestyle. When it comes to strength and fitness, I feel it is my duty to help others achieve their goals. All of my training and research would mean nothing without an outlet in which to channel that knowledge and passion. I love laughing and creating a great atmosphere, which is why I feel I am so good at what I do. I am always sure to make our athletes feel comfortable and in a friendly environment. Seeing others achieve what they once thought they could not is a very uplifting and motivating experience. I take others goals as seriously as my own and care about each and ever person that walks through our door.”
