Welcome back to this week’s “Motivation Monday” post, on How to STOP Procrastinating!
You know, it’s inevitable for all of us. We have all been guilty of putting something off longer than we should, even though we KNOW deep down we need to get started.
Let’s say you want to start exercising and get in shape. You know what you want to do, but often times we let our own thoughts and objections get in the way of just starting.
“I’ll start Monday”
“I’m too tired”
“I’m too busy”..
These little thoughts will creep up because we are COMFORTABLE with where we’re at…
And taking action towards a big goal or making a lifestyle change requires effort and stepping outside of our current comfort zone(s).
SO, how we stop procrastinating??!
1.) Know where you’re at and where you want to go.
2.) Outline weekly goals for yourself and write them down, something as simple as
“This week I will exercise for 30 minutes every day”. See how I said “This week I will…” versus “this week I want to…” Big difference!
3.) Re-assess each week and check off what you got done and what was not accomplished.
4.) BONUS: Hold yourself accountable to friends, family, or co-workers by making these goals public and hold yourself to them!
It’s very easy to put something off and tell yourself “tomorrow”. But the truth is, tomorrow is never guaranteed – and our time is the most valuable “thing” we have.
The last 10 minutes I’ve spent putting together this article is gone and I will never get it back.
Make it count and realize that by procrastinating, nothing is getting done.
Take action and don’t worry about perfection. Remember..
PROGRESS, not PERFECTION.
Have a great Tuesday and the rest of the week!

PS: I know many who could use a little jump-start in their fitness and/or strength training program.
